Dr. Katie Stipes is a native of Cullman, AL and graduated as salutatorian from St. Bernard Preparatory School.
She then traveled to Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) before heading to the loveliest village on the plains. Dr. Stipes continued her education at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating magna cum laude in 2011. Since then, she has practiced in the Birmingham area, focusing on preventative medicine, compassionate care throughout all life stages, and dermatology. Her dedication to providing high-quality care ensures that every pet feels comfortable and receives the attention they deserve.
While not at HVC, Dr. Stipes is a chaos coordinator of two wonderful boys–sharing duties with her husband, Chris. She has 17 pets: two troublesome Scottish terriers (Bonnie and Clyde), two cats (Nola and Darby), four slider turtles (Jim, Michael, Dwight, and Squirt), and 9 fish (as of publication). Dr. Stipes is a huge Alabama fan and member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
